Group Opportunities

Meal Service

All dinner meals served by volunteers

Group size required: Mens 6-8 and Womens 4

Monthly scheduled date.

      Off-site shelter locations are always in need of volunteers.

Food Preparation

Meal production, chopping produce and helping in the kitchen - group size 8-10 volunteers.

Clinic Receptionist

6:30-8:00 am and 5:30-7:00 pm

The health clinic at Pine Street is in need of friendly and outgoing volunteers to greet guests in our men's clinic. Volunteers must commit to a regular schedule for this opportunity. Morning and evening hours are available every day of the week

Donation Sorter

Volunteers needed to help unload, sort, and transport deliveries.

Schedule and times vary

Breakfast Service

Help serve breakfast any day of the week. Breakfast servers are needed from 6-7 a.m. at our emergency shelter in Boston.

Drivers Assistant

Help our team deliver prepared foods to our locations across the city. Volunteers must be able to lift 30-50 pounds. Morning and afternoon shifts are available every day of the week.

Fill-in Meal Service

Do you live or work near Pine Street Inn? Are you available in the evenings? Occasionally, we need last-minute help for dinner service and reach out to our fill-in volunteers for extra support.

Morning kitchen prep 9:00 am - noon

Dinner service fill-ins 4:30-6:30 pm

Project Place

Project Place helps those who have experienced homelessness obtain the skills, education and resources needed to secure employment and housing.

Individual opportunities

Mock Interviews (Job Readiness Class)

Every third week Monday through Friday, 9 am -noon

Script provided.  

Previous interview experience ideal but not required.

Computer Lab Tutor

One-on-one assistance with PC and Microsoft Office skills.

1 pm to 3pm pm any weekday

Enrichment Workshops

Do you have a skill you want to share?  Many volunteers have special skills to share with our students and trainees. Let us know what topic you’d like to teach. Workshops are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am until noon.

From filling backpacks to working with our trainees, volunteers propose a variety of ways to help. Contact info below to discuss what you’d like to do!
